My First Day

I had a great first day!  My teachers are all very nice, I have a lot of really good friends, some of which are in my classes, and I'm really happy with all of my classes.  I think I'm going to be pretty successful this year.

We had a two-hour delay schedule.  In the morning, we went to the upper gym, lower gym, Brown Room, auditorium, and cafeteria and talked about many different things.  In the upper gym, we took pictures. In the lower gym, on one side, we reviewed the handbook.  On the other side, we talked to the campus ministers about our special talents that we brought to John Carroll.  When we went to the Brown Room, we met our guidance counselor.  We talked about how our extra-curricular activities will better your time at John Carroll than your I.Q. (and other things) at the auditorium. Finally in the cafeteria, we talked about different extra-curricular activities you could do, such as speech-and-debate.  Honestly, it gave me a lot of information in such a short amount of time.

After the morning talks, we went to classes, starting with mod one, which was Human Geography.  It was very different, in a good way.  I was pleasantly surprised that we were making a blog because I love to write.

In my next class, English, we did a little introduction where we got different cards and we had to find our "one true partner" and introduce ourselves. After we introduced ourselves to our partner, we introduced (with our partner) to the whole class.  (I had two free mods after that.)

Then, in Biology, we went over the two papers we received from the teacher.

Then, in Honors Spanish, we got our textbooks, went over SharePoint, and looked over our course guide.

In Honors Algebra 2, we filled out a paper to give information about ourselves and were given our textbooks.

After Math, I had gym.  We went over what we needed and what we're doing in the class during the semester.

I ended off the day with chorus.  I love to sing, so I'm so happy I got to do it.

Overall, I had a great first day and I can't wait to go tomorrow.
